We're celebrating

Tuesday is our Silver Wedding anniversary. I don't always make cards for hubby as he hasn't fully convinced me he appreciates them but we won't have another Silver Wedding so I thought I should take the opportunity this year. I knew from the start that I wanted to use a piece of pearly card embossed in my Cuttlebug. I also wanted a sprinkling of silver embossing round the edge (here using A Stamp in the Hand's Field of Sky). The 25 was not quite what I had in mind. And it was quite late on that I thought I might use this stunning Elusive Images chandelier as a 'watermark' behind the number. But it didn't want to stay in the background and I decided it was a suitable image for a man's card so I let it take centre stage. The stripy card is Kanban Mono Christmas Stripes Background. The die cut and embossed border is made using a Marianne D Creatable die with a silver ribbon threaded through.

I often forget to take photos of what I make and when I do is is often a rushed afterthought. I really ought to put some effort into getting some decent pictures for the blog. It doesn't help that I often find myself taking photos at silly times of the day. I must work on my photography techniques so I can do justice to my cards.

Well he better appreciate this one Jo, it's gorgeous! I love how you've positioned the black pearl and the chandelier is a lovely image. I got my set of those stamps last week at Graphicus.

Many, many congratulations to you both and I'll see you in a couple of hours with my card to you both.

Hugs

Congratulations Jo, we're a year behind you, as we celebrate our 24th this year. The card is lovely, the colour scheme is very classic. You have put your die to good use that you bought when I was with you, well done! The chandelier looks very elegant, and the pearls add just the right touch. Judith xx

Hi Jo, I too celebrate 25yrs with my luverly hubby this year, not sure he'll receive such a gorgeous card as this though, love that stamped chandelier. In fact I love the whole card!
You kindly left a comment on my blog and asked about the background on my tag. I used Tim Holtz crackle paint, frayed burlap, when that was dry I added the Tree, embossed it with holographic EP. Then I used a stamp that is a polka dot ribbon and embossed it with a pearl EP. The sentiment is a stamp from Crafty Individuals, same as the tree. I stamped it onto an envelope (great for that buff colour) and tore it to the shape that I wanted, phew, hadn't realised how many steps it took! Hope that helps :)xx
